About the Site

May 9th, 2007 by CA Editors

CollegeAnalysts.com is the result of an exam-week brainstorm from a Finance major with an interest in the markets. Our goal is to bring together like-minded individuals who have a passion for learning about investing and create a site full of market commentary, stock analysis, and generally useful information.

Who are you?
CollegeAnalysts.com is a financial website made up of submissions from many different people, and we think that is a very good thing - variety of opinion is what makes the need for places like the stock market, after all. The concept was formulated by two friends from high school who, as college students, thought it would be good to have a formal place for fellow students to share their ideas.

Why college students?
Everyone who isn’t independently wealthy and is planning to retire needs to know how the stock market works, and because experience is so essential to successful investing, the earlier one starts, the better. College is a great time to learn about investing because such knowledge will provide skills that quickly become useful upon entering the working world, or even sooner if you already have savings you could invest.

What do college kids know about stocks?
Most contributors to this site have already been following the market for years and have learned valuable lessons in that time, and many maintain active investment portfolios. We believe that anyone who wants to learn to analyze stocks can, with enough effort. To that end, we want our entries to both give you stock ideas and to show how we arrive at those conclusions.

How can I contribute?
Simply read the contributions page, make sure your writing meets the minimum requirements, and submit it. If you need to reach us for any reason, our email is editor@collegeanalysts.com.
